The Assistant Vice President (AVP) in the CoC GIF division will undertake transaction analysis, assist with structuring the transaction and supporting the due diligence and documentation process for the CoC GIF deal team. In the deal team, the AVP supports and/or coordinates the necessary steps in the loan process and accompanies the financing until the final disbursement. The AVP works transactionally and has a high interface function to internal and external project participants.
In addition to a focus on new business, the AVP works on the analysis and ongoing support of existing transactions and simple restructurings.
Key activities:- Support Head of Project Finance APAC and wider CoC GIF team in originating, structuring, arranging, negotiating, syndicating (if required), documenting and closing of Project Finance transactions.
- Assist with deal screening, confidentiality agreements, Expressions of Interest, Request for Proposal, Letters of Interest/Support and similar early-stage transaction activities.
- Coordination and follow-up of the necessary work steps in the deal team with the involvement of the project participants.
- Analysis of the submitted documents for each transaction and assistance with development of a transaction summary and structuring memo.
- Filling and maintenance of the cash flow tool, development of a rating proposal in the rating tool.
- Specialised Finance as well as assisting with the evaluation of the risk‑return profile.
- Assist with the preparation of all internal processes, documents and applications to support the credit approval process.
- Assist with analysis and negotiation of the documentation from the offer phase to the final loan documentation.
- After signing, support of the disbursement phase with the involvement of the project participants.
- In the existing business, processing of the annual renewal as well as ongoing support of the investment and its restructuring.
- Keep abreast of market knowledge and industry developments to support the business.
- Maintain good relationships with both external and internal stakeholders.
Formal education: University degree/diploma/Master preferably in banking, finance, economics, business administration, law, or related studies.
Specialist knowledge (work experience, further qualification): 5+ years of professional experience in project finance banking with a focus on the renewable energy sector or other strongly connected relevant banking experience.
Description of specifications with regards to work profiles:
- Fluent in English (spoken and written) as main office language; German language skills advantageous.
- Largely independent and self‑reliant processing of topics in the area of responsibility with a strong solution orientation in project financing.
- Knowledge of the renewables and green infrastructure sectors, or ability to clearly demonstrate quick learning of the relevant sectors.
- Knowledge in the structuring of renewables project financing, or ability to clearly demonstrate quick learning of the relevant skills.
- Experience with dealing with typical external counterparties expected on Project Finance transactions.
- Participation in advisory mandates for renewables transactions advantageous.
- Strong team and customer orientation, commitment, initiative, flexibility and high level of commitment.
- Strong analytical, modelling and numerical skills.
- Strong attention to detail, problem solving, analytical and communication skills.
- Good knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
