The Bond Trading team plays a crucial role in risk transformation within Commerzbank and works closely with other key stakeholders in the Bonds area, such as Syndicate, Origination, and Sales. Trading acts as the risk and flow processing arm for both primary and secondary markets. From a primary market perspective, trading activities are aligned with the objectives established to meet the needs of bond issuers, who are key clients of our business. On the secondary side, trading collaborates closely with Sales and the Origination Team to achieve business goals as defined from both the investors' and issuers' perspectives. Trading manages risk positions originating from various areas within the business. However, all activities are driven by a client-centric approach across asset classes.
Requirements
- Extensive trading experience in credit bonds, focusing on bank bonds and financial institutions, including subordinated instruments such as T2 and AT1.
- Proven track record of running a trading book independently and generating consistent profits.
- Demonstrated expertise in working with algorithmic trading systems, e-trading, and the ability to initiate and support digitization efforts on the trading desk.
- Excellent technical skills in risk management and a strong understanding of diverse trading and hedging strategies.
- Representational authority in both the market and within the company.
- Ability to perform under pressure and make informed decisions promptly.
- Strong team orientation with excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills.
- Fluency in English is required; German or additional European language skills are advantageous.
