The role will be to perform periodic testing and quality assurance (QA) reviews on the Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Sanctions, Counter Terrorism Financing (CTF) and Anti-Bribery and Corruption (ABC) specialisms within the Financial Crime Team (FCT).
This role will require competence across the following areas:
- Demonstrate excellent subject matter expertise of all elements of a risk based financial crime risk management framework of a global investment bank including Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD), Transaction Monitoring (TM), Sanctions Transaction and Name Screening, Enterprise-Wide Risk Assessments including evaluating controls across first and second lines of defence and all elements of an ABC risk control framework.
- Identify key risk areas and concerns within the FCT controls environment, and the ability to report these risks to senior management within the team.
- Demonstrate an understanding of the London Branch’s business requirements and ensuring the FCT functions are per-forming to the relevant regulatory requirements.
- Thorough understanding of the Three Lines of Defence and Controls Framework.
- Be a key member of the second line of defence with regards to financial crime prevention and provide support to management.
Key activities:
- Have a good understanding of UK regulatory and legislative compliance risk pillar.
- Perform Quality Assurance testing in line with the requirements of applicable procedures. Conduct thorough testing and reviews of controls and activities, via the quality assurance function, and make risk-based determinations on whether the underlying activities subject to the review is consistent with relevant policies and provide written justification for QA conclusion.
- Ensure that QA results and findings are properly documented and escalated and that related remedial ac-tions are monitored and adequately implemented.
- Analyse changes in Compliance procedures, adjusting the assurance testing accordingly.
- Conduct ad-hoc investigations / projects / assignments, upon request.
- Participate in team meetings with senior stakeholders.
- Assist in departmental projects as required and any other tasks assigned by the respective line manager.
Key requirements:
- Experience with compliance risk pillars / investigations into risk/control functions
- Experience in Financial Crime compliance, Three Lines of Defence experience with a strong focus on AML considera-tions
- Strong analytical thinking and critical reasoning skills
- Strong written and verbal communications skills
- Ability to recognize and elevate risks and issues appropriately.
- Self-motivation and the ability to work independently.
- Collaborative and effective team player skills
- Ability to handle confidential information with appropriate discretion.
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Knowledge of UK, EU, and German regulation
- German and / or other European language skills advantageous
