A leading corporate banking and capital markets organisation is seeking a Senior Credit Officer to join their team in London.
Main Purpose of this Role: As a (Senior) Credit Officer in the Structured Finance ABS department, you will be responsible for the analysis and evaluation of complex structured securitisation transactions in the ABS and Structured Solutions divisions.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Approving exposures to securitisation and structured vehicles backed primarily by middle market corporate exposures.
- Deciding within the framework of delegated authorities and ensuring a high analysis and decision quality in your credit applications, ensuring transactions are within the bank’s policies and risk appetite, and carrying out internal ratings.
- Participating in due diligence with colleagues in Front Office, including negotiation of structures, terms and documentation.
- Reviewing and potentially questioning all elements of transactions including structure, collateral, and cashflow stress analysis.
- Having responsibility for ongoing deal and portfolio monitoring and exercising credit approval authority for amendments, increase requests and annual reviews.
- Working closely together with team members in the Frankfurt head office, as well as with colleagues in Front Office, Market Risk, Finance etc., and participating in portfolio monitoring, audit reviews and ad hoc projects.
- Staying informed about market trends and regulatory updates.
As (senior) credit officer you will have an in-depth expertise in financing and securitisation, particularly CLO structures, and have knowledge in the area of private credit funds/asset managers and middle market loans. You will also have strong analytical skills and knowledge of credit risk management techniques, rating agency methodologies, ability to review legal documentation, and experience using cash flow models and tools (e.g. Intex, Bloomberg, Moody’s Analytics).
Key Activities and Competencies:
- Analysing and monitoring ABS transactions, preparing credit reviews.
- Working closely with business to ascertain deal parameters and identify risks inherent in transactions.
- Conducting detailed credit assessments for specific exposures covering past collateral performance, expected performance and relevant deal features and risks.
- Reviewing documentation.
- Performing analyses for annual reviews/renewals/amendments.
- Researching trends in applicable markets.
- Participating in projects related to business or regulatory changes.
- Providing regular portfolio performance and market related updates to management.
- Working closely with the ABS modelling team to ensure that deal features are properly modelled and incorporated in any credit assessments.
Key Requirements:
- University degree.
- Additional relevant qualifications in the finance sector.
- Sufficient years of experience in the decision-making and analysis of complex credit exposures in the structured credit business, in particular ABS with a focus on private credit and middle market CLOs.
- Basic knowledge of internal regulations, policies, and efficient application of operational procedures, especially credit processing.
- Methodically structured working methods, self-initiative, decision-making power, resilience and responsibility.
- Good presentation skills: Presentation of documents to senior management, market side and appropriate committees.
- Good teamwork skills, communication and professional appearance in a multicultural environment.
