Main purpose of the role: FCA Certified role as a Relationship Manager principally covering Global Alternative Asset Managers/ Financial Sponsors as well as broader Fund Managers (e.g. Hedge Funds and Real Money Asset Managers). The role will report to the Head of NBFI, UK. The Relationship Manager bears comprehensive responsibility for the client relationship and actively controls the operational and/or strategic relationship with the customer and is responsible for the profitability of the customer relationship, taking into account the client’s needs as well as revenue, risk and profitability aspects.
Key activities:
- Proactively assume responsibility for business development/ retention, management of key risks and serve as the point of escalation for the client portfolio.
- Develop and implement forward-looking focused strategies for the client portfolio.
- Drive, coordinate and implement all business development sales activities towards the client in collaboration with other departments and international locations.
- Assume responsibility of key risks including, but not limited to, credit risk, operational risk, compliance risk, business risk, reputational risk, ESG risks and country risk - as part of the role as 'First Line of Defense'.
- Assume coverage of clients within other NBFI sectors in order to broaden expertise, provide cross-coverage for contingency purposes and promote collaboration across the team.
- Develop, coach and support junior members of the team.
Key requirements:
- College- or University Degree (or Higher post graduate qualification).
- FCA approved CISI Regulations and Securities certificates (preferred if already held).
- Proven track record of at least 5 years’ experience in similar or related role.
- Experienced in client coverage and/or specialist product knowledge relevant to Global Alternative Asset Managers/ Financial Sponsors, Hedge Funds and Real Money Asset Managers.
- Good level of core product knowledge including (but not limited to) Fund Financing (Subscription Financing, NAV Financing, ABL), Global Markets, Structured Solutions, and Transactional Banking.
- Knowledge of credit and KYC related risks and mitigants as well as familiarity with relevant regulations (local and international).
- Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal.
- Strong analytical skills – with the ability to gather, analyse and interpret large data sets.
- Robust problem-solving skills and ability to think critically.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate within a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, particularly Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Fluent English speaker.
