The Opportunity

We're working with a specialist construction engineering organisation that supports major building projects across the UK. They're now looking for a Health & Safety & Warehouse Coordinator to take ownership of site safety while supporting day-to-day warehouse operations. This is not a desk-based advisory role - it's a hands-on operational position where you'll play a visible part in improving safety standards and supporting site workflow continuity. If you enjoy being out on the floor, influencing teams, and making real improvements, this role offers genuine ownership and impact.

The Role

This is a dual-responsibility position combining:

  • 60% Health & Safety ownership
  • 40% Warehouse operations coordination

You'll lead Health & Safety compliance across the site while supporting the Warehouse Manager and Shift Supervisor with operational coordination and workflow planning.

Key Responsibilities

Health & Safety (Approx. 60%):

  • Own site Health & Safety processes and compliance
  • Maintain risk assessments, COSHH assessments, and safe systems of work
  • Ensure procedures meet current legislation requirements
  • Conduct regular site inspections and monthly reviews
  • Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions
  • Introduce and manage near-miss reporting initiatives
  • Monitor and report safety KPIs
  • Deliver safety training, coaching, and inductions
  • Support First Aid and Fire Marshal compliance programmes
  • Liaise with external partners including Worknest and HSE
  • Review and improve policies and procedures
  • Promote a proactive safety culture across the site

Warehouse Operations Support (Approx. 40%):

  • Support daily warehouse coordination activity
  • Assist with labour planning and workflow prioritisation
  • Support shipment sign-off where required
  • Provide Shift Supervisor cover when needed
  • Act as Assistant to the Warehouse Manager
  • Help maintain smooth operational continuity across site
  • Work closely with teams to improve efficiency and safety standards

About You

We're looking for someone who is:

  • Hands-on and operationally engaged
  • Comfortable working across safety and warehouse environments
  • Confident influencing teams positively
  • Proactive and solutions-focused
  • Experienced working within fast-paced site environments
  • Motivated by continuous improvement and collaboration

This role suits someone who enjoys being part of operations rather than advising from the sidelines.

Essential Experience & Qualifications:

  • NEBOSH Level 3 (minimum)
  • NEBOSH Level 4 (desirable)
  • Experience owning Health & Safety processes within an operational site
  • Background within warehouse, logistics, manufacturing, engineering, or construction-support environments preferred
  • Strong experience with risk assessments, incident investigations, and compliance frameworks
  • Proven track record improving safety processes and culture
  • Comfortable working cross-functionally with operational teams

Why This Role Stands Out?

  • Real ownership of site Health & Safety
  • A varied role across compliance and operations
  • Opportunity to influence safety culture directly
  • Exposure to warehouse leadership and engineering-led activity
  • A visible position within a collaborative site leadership team
