Production Planner in Northampton. Permanent - full time. Salary: £30-35,000. FMCG | Proper forward-planning, not firefighting.

If you’re a Planner who actually likes having a clear plan, hates aged stock gathering dust, and refuses to work in a place where 'planning' means guessing then you’ll be in good company here. This FMCG manufacturer is looking for someone who genuinely knows their craft - not someone who just pushes buttons on an MRP system and hopes for the best.

You’ll be the person who keeps everything moving: raw materials, production runs, efficiency gains, stock levels, customer commitments - the lot. And yes, you’ll be listened to. This role sits at the heart of operations, not on the sidelines.

What you’ll actually be doing:

  • Ensure all activities are carried out according with the production plan including planning, releasing and matching jobs.
  • Ensure all productivity and efficiencies are met.
  • Monitor raw materials, ensuring the correct parameters are maintained.
  • Review our customer stock holding/Finished product stock to avoid keeping aged stock.
  • Retain a culture of teamwork through involvement and development of team members.
  • Support colleagues with optimizing the systems, to maximize its key functions.
  • Support the CS teams where necessary on Sales Order parameters, and manage costs associated with changes, inefficient pack formats and storage.

What they’re looking for:

  • ~3+ years’ planning experience within FMCG.
  • ~ Strong attention to detail (the kind that actually catches things).
  • ~ Proper problem-solving skills - spotting issues before they exist.
  • ~ Good operational understanding, end-to-end.
  • ~ Confidence with Excel, any decent MRP system.
  • ~ Someone who can organise, communicate, and keep things on track without drama.
  • ~ A naturally calm, structured, team-focused way of working.

Culture & values:

This is a business built on quality, responsibility, sustainability, independence, and genuine long-term relationships. No egos, no chaos, no blame culture. Just people who want to do things properly and take pride in their work.

Extras:

  • Holidays: 25/year & 1 day birthday.
  • Bonus (Annual).
  • Private medical insurance, Life Insurance, Discounts Platform.
  • Pension: 5% Company contribution + minimum 4% Employee contribution.
