A finance role with structure, variety and flexibility. We're looking for a Finance Assistant to join a busy team in a hands-on role combining finance administration, data entry and general office support. This is a temp-to-perm opportunity, ideal for someone looking to get into a role where they can prove themselves and build a long-term career. You don't need to be an experienced accountant. If you're a strong administrator with good Excel skills, a confident personality and the ability to pick up new systems quickly, this could be a great opportunity.

What will you be doing? This is a processing-focused role, with your day-to-day responsibilities including:

  • Processing sales and purchase invoices.
  • Supporting debt collection and making customer calls where required.
  • Entering and maintaining data across MIS and stock control systems.
  • Assisting with material and consumables purchasing.
  • Supporting costs analysis.
  • General administration, scanning and filing.
  • Maintaining accurate financial and stock records.
  • Providing holiday cover for purchasing activities.

There will be a high level of data entry and processing, so you'll need to be comfortable with routine and repetitive tasks while maintaining accuracy.

Who are we looking for? We're looking for someone with a strong administrative background who is confident using Excel and comfortable working independently. You'll also need to be confident picking up the phone and having conversations that aren't always straightforward. Most importantly, we're looking for someone who is:

  • Confident.
  • Chatty.
  • Proactive.
  • Organised.
  • Gets things done.

If you're someone who can learn the process, take ownership and crack on without needing to be micromanaged, you'll fit in well. Basic accounts experience would be advantageous, but isn't essential as training will be provided.

The Details:

  • £21,060 (£13.50ph)
  • 9:00am-3:00pm, Monday-Friday
  • Northamptonshire
  • Temp-to-perm opportunity
  • Part-time or full-time options available
  • Start: Late August/Early September

If you're an experienced administrator looking to move into finance, or you already have some accounts experience and want a structured role with consistent weekday hours, we'd love to hear from you.
