As a Purchasing Administrator at Commercial, you’ll play a key role in keeping our procurement function running smoothly, providing essential administrative support and ensuring purchase orders are processed accurately and on time. You’ll raise and maintain orders, manage supplier and internal queries, and keep purchasing data accurate and up to date. In addition to core purchasing activities, the role provides flexible, ad-hoc administrative support across the department as required, contributing to the smooth day-to-day running of the business. This position suits a well-organised individual with strong attention to detail, good communication skills, and the ability to coordinate effectively across multiple teams.
Your responsibilities as a Purchasing Administrator will be:
- Raise, process, and maintain purchase orders in line with company procedures and approval controls
- Ensure all purchase orders are accurate, complete, and issued in a timely manner
- Monitor order progress, manage order confirmations, and follow up with suppliers as required
- Act as the first point of contact for internal and external order-related queries, resolving issues efficiently
- Liaise closely with the Finance department to support invoice matching, pricing verification, and cost discrepancies
- Maintain accurate purchasing records, supplier information, and order documentation
- Work collaboratively with the Customer Service team to address delivery issues, shortages, or urgent customer requirements
- Support compliance with purchasing policies and internal controls
- Assist with reporting and data provision relating to purchasing activity
- Provide general administrative and ad-hoc support to the purchasing team and wider business as required
