We have a superb opportunity to join a growing business as an experienced Business Development Manager to take over a portfolio of existing clients within your own region. You will not be building your desk from scratch: our client is an established industry leader with a strong brand and excellent reputation, with several projects already confirmed and a substantial quote bank. Although there is a strong element of account management and relationship building, you still need to have the desire and capability to find new clients, generate new opportunities and maximise business.
You will be working from a brand-new office space located just outside of Northampton, complete with state-of-the-art kitchen and onsite gym; there will also be regular travel to visit clients within your region.
Key responsibilities for the Business Development Manager include:
- Manage and grow an existing quote bank and portfolio of clients, liaising with key stakeholders and nurturing relationships.
- Manage a portfolio of your own key customers, with the aim of gaining additional business in other areas.
- Gain an accurate brief from the client, working with the project management and design teams to produce and close quotes.
- Contribute to the marketing strategy for the business, actively promoting via email marketing, canvassing and social media channels.
To be successful in the role of Business Development Manager you must demonstrate:
- Experience of selling into the construction industry would be ideal, preferably having sold a technical product.
- Proven experience working in a business development role, with a confident phone manner and experience of negotiating.
- Consultative sales approach and outlook, capable of nurturing and developing your own portfolio of clients.
- An autonomous, self-motivated professional who can achieve targets and enjoys new challenges.
- Commercially aware with the ability to understand new industries quickly.
- Own transport required.
