We’re a growing Managed Service Provider (MSP) based in East Yorkshire, and we’re looking for an IT Support Engineer to join our busy and expanding support team. Commercial Systems have been established for over 30 years, supporting a wide and varied customer base—from sole traders to organisations in engineering, manufacturing, hospitality and many other industries. Our friendly and experienced team prides itself on delivering reliable, trusted IT solutions that enable our customers to focus on their business while we take care of their IT.

This role is perfect for someone with around a year or more of commercial IT support experience who has progressed beyond an apprenticeship or trainee role and is ready to step up. You’ll be working in a fast‑paced MSP environment, supporting a variety of clients and technologies—no two days are the same. You’ll gain hands‑on experience across a wide technical landscape, supporting solutions including IT support services, Cyber Security, telephone systems, network and Wi‑Fi infrastructure, CCTV, and meeting room technologies. You’ll do this while being backed by a knowledgeable, supportive team who are keen to help you grow and progress.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide 1st line and some 2nd line IT support to a varied MSP client base
  • Respond to support requests via the ticketing system, phone and email, delivering a professional and friendly service
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software and connectivity issues efficiently
  • Manage and prioritise tickets in line with agreed SLAs
  • Carry out daily maintenance tasks and proactive system checks
  • Support Microsoft cloud and on premise environments
  • Respond to and investigate automated system monitoring alerts
  • Assist with the delivery of customer IT projects, working alongside senior engineers
  • Escalate complex or unresolved issues to senior engineers where appropriate
  • Attend client sites when required
  • Maintain clear, accurate ticket notes and documentation
What We’re Looking For
  • Around 1 year of commercial IT support experience in a real world environment (this role is not suitable for candidates whose experience is limited solely to an apprenticeship or placement)
  • Experience working in an MSP or multi client support environment
  • A strong commitment to delivering a professional, customer focused service
  • Good working knowledge of Windows operating systems and Microsoft 365
  • Confident communication and customer service skills, both written and verbal
  • Experience using ticketing systems and working to SLAs
  • A proactive, organised approach to troubleshooting and time management
  • A full UK driving licence for occasional client site visits
  • Hands on experience with Microsoft 365, Active Directory, Azure / Entra ID
  • A basic understanding of networking concepts such as DNS, DHCP and TCP/IP
  • Experience supporting VoIP or phone systems, particularly 3CX
  • Exposure to RMM tools, PSA systems, backup solutions and endpoint security
  • Relevant IT certifications (e.g. CompTIA, Microsoft, Cyber Security Awareness)
What We Offer
  • From £24,785 per annum, dependent on experience
  • Company pension scheme
  • 20 Days annual leave, your birthday off, plus bank holidays.
  • Free on site parking
  • Clear development and progression opportunities within a growing MSP
  • Hands on exposure to a wide range of technologies, systems and client environments
  • Ongoing training and certification support to help you grow your skills
  • A friendly, experienced and supportive team environment where collaboration is valued
