Role: Young Peoples Participation Officer Salary: £24,310pa Location: Hybrid/Aylesford, Kent This is an up to 12-month temporary contract. Why Join CSG? What You’ll Bring: Are you passionate about supporting young people and helping them reach their full potential? The Education People are looking for a Young Peoples Participation Officer to focus on tracking and supporting young people aged 16-18 across Kent to ensure they are engaged in education, employment, or training. You’ll be making a real difference by helping young people navigate their future pathways and connecting them to essential support services. The successful candidate will contact young people aged 16-18 to establish their education or employment status and accurately record this information on the Client Caseload Information System (CCIS database).  This is the database used by the Local Authority to comply with its statutory duty to track young people and report to the DfE. Due to the nature of work being carried out, an Enhanced DBS check (provided by the Company) will be carried out, please consider this before submitting your application. What You’ll Achieve: As Young Peoples Participation Officer you will: Contact young people in a variety of ways e.g. telephone, letter and email to establish what they are doing and accurately record this on the Client Caseload Information System (CCIS).  80-85% of your time will be spent on the telephone to young people or parents. Assist the NEET Support Service (Not in Education, Employment or Training) in three Kent districts by staying in touch with young people who are NEET when they are not able to.  Record outcomes on the Client Caseload Information System (CCIS). Develop, monitor and maintain office systems and contribute to the ongoing development of new working practices. Develop and maintain relationships with, schools and colleges to ensure the continued good working relationship and timely transfer of data to enable KCC to track young people. Assist in the maintenance of the Kent Choices website as directed and provide guidance to parents/carers and young people on how to navigate the website and make online applications. Work to targets set by the Skills and Employability Service Lead and the Young Person’s Participation Supervisor that ensure that KCC meets its monthly returns to the DfE (Department of Education).
