As an Account Specialist, you will be responsible for managing and growing your own portfolio of education and public sector customers, helping them access the right procurement solutions for their digital and print requirements. You will build lasting relationships, provide expert guidance and support customers throughout their procurement journey, becoming a trusted point of contact for their needs.

What you will be doing

  • Managing a portfolio of customer accounts and maintaining high levels of retention and engagement.
  • Building relationships with schools and public sector organisations to understand their procurement requirements.
  • Advising customers on suitable framework solutions and available supplier options.
  • Preparing quotations and helping customers identify the most appropriate solutions for their needs.
  • Developing new business opportunities within your allocated customer base and geographical area.
  • Growing a pipeline of opportunities through proactive customer engagement and account development.
  • Managing customer enquiries and resolving issues effectively.
  • Maintaining accurate customer records and activity using internal systems.
  • Providing regular reporting on sales activity, pipeline performance and account growth.

What we are looking for

  • Proven experience in account management, business development, sales or customer relationship management.
  • A track record of building and growing customer relationships.
  • Strong communication, listening and relationship-building skills.
  • The ability to identify customer needs and recommend appropriate solutions.
  • Experience working towards targets and managing a pipeline of opportunities.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Confidence when speaking with customers by telephone and video call.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • A self-motivated and proactive approach with the ability to work independently.
  • Experience working with schools, education settings or public sector customers would be advantageous but is not essential.
