Impact Student Partners is a Non-Medical Helper (NMH) Provider that specialises in supporting students with disabilities including SpLD's, Neurodiversity, and Mental Health Conditions. We partner with Higher Education institutions such as Universities and Colleges across the UK.
The role: We are currently recruiting for Specialist Mentors (ASC) based around Buckinghamshire New University that can offer a hybrid approach to supporting students – this means you must be able to provide both online and in-person support.
Responsibilities: As a Specialist Mentor (ASC), you will be responsible for supporting students during their studies and helping them to develop effective learning strategies including:
- Understanding university expectations – for example, understanding the ‘hidden rules’ of university culture or life
- Structure, organisation and routines – helping to build weekly routines and habits that feel manageable
- Communication with academics and peers – helping to manage understanding and navigating communication styles
- Managing overwhelm and sensory overload
- Navigating university systems and adjustments
- Managing stress and anxiety
Experience and qualifications: You should understand Neurodiversity and Mental Health Conditions and how they may impact a student as part of their studies. It is essential that you hold a degree and training in Autism such as the National Autistic Society (NAS) modules.
Pay and benefits:
- You will be employed on a flexible temporary basis and can choose to support as many students as you wish. There is a huge amount of flexibility available to you and we offer a competitive hourly rate.
