Location: Hybrid/Kings Hill, Kent

Salary/package: £25,948.96 to £28,500 per annum

Contract type: Permanent

Hours: Full time, 37 hours per week

Due to the nature of the work being carried out, the successful candidate will need to have a Full (Clean) UK Driving Licence and be willing to undergo an Enhanced DBS check which will be carried out by the company.

EIS are looking for a dedicated Schools IT Technician to play a key role in delivering high‑quality IT support to schools and academies. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact, supporting education environments with reliable, secure and effective technology. This role would suit an experienced IT Technician or Helpdesk Engineer who enjoys variety, problem solving and building strong customer relationships across multiple school settings.

This is a role where technical judgement and customer care are essential, with responsibility for maintaining infrastructure, resolving incidents and supporting schools with future‑focused IT planning.

What you’ll be doing

  • Managing school IT infrastructure to ensure systems remain secure and effective.
  • Supporting the resolution of incidents, including complex networking, Windows Server and device issues.
  • Working closely with school staff and leaders to understand needs and provide professional IT advice.
  • Preparing technical information and documentation to support incident resolution and decision making.
  • Supporting classroom technology including touch panels, smartboards, projectors and visualisers.
  • Working with third‑party providers on behalf of customers to ensure services meet requirements.
  • Highlighting IT risks and recommending appropriate mitigation steps.
  • Providing remote support when not on site, ensuring timely updates and accurate records.

  • Proven experience in troubleshooting networking, Windows Server and user device issues.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and resilience in a fast‑paced environment.
  • The ability to build constructive relationships with customers and stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication skills including clear written and verbal communication.
  • A proactive, solutions‑focused approach with strong attention to detail.
  • Experience supporting classroom technology and school‑specific systems such as SIMS or Arbor.
  • Understanding of ITIL principles and service delivery standards.
