EiS is seeking an Infrastructure Engineer with strong Microsoft 365 and cloud transformation expertise to lead and support end‐to‐end modernisation projects for schools, academies, and SMEs. You will help customers transition from legacy on premises environments into secure, scalable Microsoft cloud platforms—modernising identity, data, devices, and applications along the way.
This role blends hands‐on technical delivery with project leadership, covering cloud migration, networking, Windows Server administration, endpoint management, and classroom technologies. You will work across Entra ID, Intune, Autopilot, SharePoint/OneDrive, Microsoft 365 security, and hybrid identity, acting as a trusted technical expert and 3rd‐line escalation point. With structured training, certification support, and exposure to a broad technology stack, this is an excellent opportunity to accelerate your career.
Why this role matters
As an Infrastructure Engineer, you play a central role in delivering reliable, modern, and secure IT services. You will lead cloud migration and infrastructure initiatives, support hybrid and cloud‐native solutions, and ensure smooth day‐to‐day operations for our customers. Your work directly enables schools and public sector organisations to operate efficiently, securely, and with confidence in their technology.
What you will be doing
- Delivering end‐to‐end cloud migrations, including:
- Active Directory → Entra ID (hybrid or cloud only)
- Applications → Intune packaged deployments
- Group Policy → Intune configuration profiles & security baselines
What we are looking for
- Educated to GCSE level (or equivalent), including English and Maths (grade C/4 or above).
- 2+ years' experience delivering Microsoft 365 or on‐prem to cloud migration projects.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft 365 and Azure services across identity, security, device management, and collaboration.
- PowerShell scripting for automation and troubleshooting.
- Experience managing user devices and platforms such as EISnet and RM CC4.
- Familiarity with school MIS systems (SIMS, Arbor, Bromcom).
- Experience conducting site, cloud, and network surveys.
- Understanding of IT Service Delivery, project based environments, SLAs, and ITIL aligned processes.
- Knowledge of Dynamics 365 is desirable.
- Understanding of EiS products and services is advantageous.
- Strong problem solving ability and logical troubleshooting.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement.
- Ability to work independently or collaboratively on complex tasks.
What you will get in return
- Salary of £40,000 per annum
- 25 days annual leave, rising to 27 after 4 years.
- Birthday Day Off.
- One concessionary day during the Christmas period.
- Pension scheme with 4% employer contribution.
- Life assurance cover.
