Why this role matters
The Business Support Administrator will be responsible for providing vital administrative and practice support to allocated Solicitors and Legal Assistants across multiple legal areas, ensuring the smooth running of daily operations.
What you’ll be doing
- Support qualified lawyers, legal assistants, and other team members in daily legal and administrative tasks.
- Open and close files, conduct compliance checks, and maintain accurate case records.
- Prepare and manage court bundles, including creation, updates, redaction, and distribution via post or secure email.
- Schedule meetings and appointments, maintain electronic diaries, and manage incoming calls and enquiries.
- Liaise with courts, solicitors, social workers, expert witnesses, and counsel regarding hearings, availability, and fees.
- Draft and send correspondence, letters, and other documentation as required.
- Operate case management systems, including document input and general electronic filing.
- Process incoming post, photocopying, printing, scanning, and other routine administrative tasks.
- Manage invoices, authorisation forms, and other financial or procedural paperwork.
What we’re looking for
- Educated to a GCSE standard with a minimum of 4 graded A-C including English.
- Previous experience within an administrative role is desirable but not essential.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong IT skills, particularly the use of Microsoft Word and Outlook.
- A customer focused mindset with the ability to build strong working relationships with clients.
- Ability to work fast and under pressure using initiative.
