Salary/package: £55,000 per annum (pro rata)

Contract type: Up to 12 month fixed term contract (maternity cover)

Hours: Full time, 37 hours per week

Senior Early Years and Childcare Quality Adviser is a key leadership role within The Education People, supporting the improvement of early years provision across Kent. The role focuses on raising standards, strengthening inclusion and helping ensure children achieve strong outcomes at the end of the Early Years Foundation Stage. This role would suit an experienced early years leader or senior adviser, offering the opportunity to lead a team, take ownership of a strategic area such as SEND or safeguarding and influence services at a county-wide level.

You will play a key role in improving the quality of early years and childcare provision, ensuring high standards, inclusive practice and positive outcomes for children under five. This is a role where strong leadership and professional judgement are essential, with responsibility for a strategic priority area and for leading a team to deliver measurable improvement across the sector.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Leading a coordinated approach to improving quality and outcomes across early years settings.
  • Managing and developing a team of advisers to deliver effective support, challenge and training.
  • Supporting providers to meet statutory requirements including EYFS, safeguarding, SEND and equality legislation.
  • Working with settings to improve Ofsted outcomes, particularly those requiring improvement.
  • Using data and insight to identify gaps in achievement and target support effectively.
  • Overseeing programmes of intervention to raise standards and improve provision.
  • Working closely with multi-agency partners to support children, including those with additional needs.
  • Contributing to the design and delivery of training and workforce development programmes.
  • Building strong relationships with providers to drive engagement and continuous improvement.

  • Proven experience in early years education or childcare, including leadership or management responsibility.
  • Strong knowledge of the EYFS framework, SEND, safeguarding and inclusive practice.
  • The ability to lead and develop high-performing teams.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with a range of stakeholders.
  • A proactive and solutions-focused approach.
  • The ability to analyse information and use insight to drive improvement.
