Our client is the fastest-growing top 20 accountancy firm in the UK with over 30 years of experience. We are now looking to recruit a Client Relationship Manager to join the team in their Peterborough office. You will be responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with a portfolio of accountancy clients, acting as a trusted point of contact and ensuring exceptional service delivery. You will work closely with internal teams to understand client needs, identify opportunities for growth, and support long-term client retention.
Key responsibilities of a Client Relationship Manager will include:
- Reviewing year end accounts, corporation and personal tax returns and VAT returns prepared by senior or junior members of the accounts team.
- Helping clients with general advice and software questions.
- Managing a portfolio of clients, this will involve workforce planning, management of WIP and billing.
- Briefing team members on assignments, ensuring everyone has a clear understanding of the plans.
- Overseeing junior team members, delegating work between the team and signing off on files prepared by them - ensuring work is done within budget.
- Strengthening existing client relationships.
- Contributing to ongoing process improvement and best practice development.
- Winning new clients.
About You
We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:
- Essential: 3+ years of Practice experience.
- ACCA/ACA qualified.
- Working knowledge of accounting software including Sage and Xero, previous use of CCH would be an advantage.
- Recent experience of Accounts production with a good level of technical knowledge of accounting standards.
- Strong Excel skills (including vlookup, sumif and Pivot Tables).
- Comfortable in a client facing role.
- Strong background in accounts preparation.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Previous knowledge and experience of a broad range of sectors would be an advantage.
- Solid communication skills, with experience of regular, in-person or telephone client contact.
- Organised and diligent, ensuring that jobs are processed in a timely way and that client requests are dealt with.
- Participative team player that motivates others and willingly accepts tasks to assist others.
