Location: Our client is seeking an efficient and reliable Vehicle Fitter to work in our factory, near Peterborough. The role requires a minimum of 2 years mechanical engineering experience and 2 years experience in automotive 12-volt and 48-volt electrical circuits. Welding would be a distinct advantage but is not essential.
As a Fitter for the UK's largest manufacturer of industrial electric vehicles, you will work in the Factory team, producing a wide range of vehicles. Working on the front line of production, you will help maintain the high standards our customers expect. You will be responsible for building our own vehicles, as well as for the maintenance and repair of the rental fleet.
The vehicles are used across a wide variety of industries, including oil rigs, motor manufacturing, airports, hospitals, golf courses, wildlife parks, atomic plants, and power stations.
You will have:
- 2 years of mechanical engineering experience, gained in automotive, power generation, aviation, or manufacturing environments.
- Experience in electrical fault finding, repair, and general maintenance of machinery.
- A clean driving license.
Responsibilities include:
- Actively participating in the on-the-job training program.
- Building production vehicles as per given job cards.
- Meeting production build target hours.
- Ensuring compliance with the company Health and Safety Policy.
Competitive rates - OTE 36-48k. Basic hours of work 39 per week - overtime offered. Company profit share bonus scheme (minimum 1-year service to qualify). 29 days holiday (including bank holidays).
