Role Purpose

This newly created national role is responsible for leading all aspects of statutory compliance, technical governance, health & safety, fire safety and building safety across the Flow Student portfolio. The role will act as the organisation's technical expert, supporting operations, acquisitions, mobilisations and future growth while ensuring full legislative compliance, particularly across Higher-Risk Buildings (HRBs).

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead statutory compliance across fire safety, health & safety, M&E, water hygiene, gas, lifts, pressure systems, LOLER, emergency lighting, fixed wire testing, lightning protection, asbestos, legionella and contractor compliance.
  • Manage Fire Risk Assessments, fire strategy, compartmentation, fire doors, passive fire protection and FRA action plans.
  • Lead Building Safety Act compliance for HRBs including Safety Cases, Golden Thread information, resident engagement and regulator requirements.
  • Develop and maintain the company's Health & Safety Management System, policies, risk assessments and Safe Systems of Work.
  • Undertake compliance audits and produce Executive-level reporting and compliance dashboards.
  • Support acquisitions through technical due diligence and mobilisation of new assets.
  • Manage specialist contractors and consultants, ensuring competency and performance.
  • Deliver technical guidance and compliance training to operational teams.
  • Investigate incidents, manage RIDDOR reporting and drive continuous improvement.

Essential Experience

  • Minimum five years managing statutory compliance across a multi-site property portfolio.
  • Strong knowledge of the Building Safety Act, Fire Safety Order, CDM Regulations and Health & Safety legislation.
