Study Skills Tutor (ASC) – Hybrid (Reading, Berkshire)
Non‑Medical Helper Provider supporting students with disabilities, including Sp LD, mental health conditions and neurodiversity. The role is based in Reading and surrounding area.
Responsibilities
- Helping students understand assignment expectations, clarifying ambiguous or complex questions and breaking them down.
- Structuring essays and coursework, developing logical essay plans and organising ideas into clear arguments.
- Managing academic reading and executive functioning for coursework – realistically blocking, estimating, and managing time.
- Supporting academic writing skills, note‑taking and processing information.
- Providing support for exams and assessments including interpretation of questions, structuring responses, and utilising reasonable adjustments.
Experience and Qualifications
- A university degree.
- A teaching qualification such as PGCE, QTS, AFHEA, Cert Ed, DELTA or a relevant professional body membership with BDA, PASSHE, PATOSS or Dyslexia Guild.
- Training in Autism, e. g., NAS modules.

- Hourly rate: £35 + £4.22 holiday pay (£39.22 per hour rolled up).
