As Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for:

  • Supporting the commercial management of a high‑rise residential development from procurement through to final account
  • Assisting with subcontractor procurement, tender analysis, and package buy‑out
  • Preparing and processing subcontractor payments and valuations
  • Supporting the management of variations and change control procedures
  • Assisting with cost reporting, forecasting, and budget monitoring
  • Maintaining accurate commercial records and project documentation
  • Working closely with the Quantity Surveyor, Site Team, and Project Management team to ensure commercial objectives are achieved
  • Supporting the preparation and agreement of final accounts
  • Building and maintaining strong working relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and key stakeholders

Ideal Candidate

  • Previous experience in an Assistant Quantity Surveyor or Trainee Quantity Surveyor role within construction
  • Experience working on residential, mixed‑use, or high‑rise developments would be advantageous
  • A good understanding of construction contracts and commercial processes
  • Strong numerical, analytical, and organisational skills
  • Excellent communication and relationship‑building abilities
  • A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop professionally
  • The ability to work effectively within a fast‑paced project environment
  • A relevant construction or quantity surveying qualification, or currently studying towards one
