About Us

Are you the kind of person who likes to figure things out, make things better, and get things done? Do you love the variety of working on different challenges every day; from delivering new solutions, to finding new opportunities, and managing teams? We're Commercial Intuition, a small, friendly team based in Gloucester, and we partner with clients to deliver high-impact solutions, foster innovation, and create measurable value. We are now seeking an Office Manager who will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth and efficient running of the business as we grow.

Role Overview

The Office Manager will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations, supporting the Senior Leadership Team, and ensuring that the business runs effectively and efficiently. This role combines operational management, administrative coordination, and people support — ideal for someone who enjoys variety, problem-solving, and making things happen. We recognise that our ideal office manager might be someone who has caring responsibilities, can only work during school hours or has any other commitments outside of work and we are excited about also providing opportunities for candidates who are passionate about the role but may need this extra flexibility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operational Support
    • Oversee day-to-day office operations and act as a central point of coordination across the business.
    • Maintain and improve administrative systems, processes, and policies to support smooth business operations.
    • Support the Head of Consultancy in ensuring projects and business functions run efficiently.
    • Manage supplier relationships, contracts, and operational budgets.
  • People & Team Support
    • Support onboarding of new staff and contractors, ensuring systems, tools, and access are set up.
    • Coordinate internal communications, meetings, and company updates.
    • Help maintain a positive, collaborative, and high-performing team culture.
  • Finance & Compliance
    • Reconcile company bank accounts and file company tax returns and payroll records.
    • Liaise with consultant teams or external providers to support invoicing, expenses, and budget tracking.
    • Assist in maintaining company compliance (e.g., insurance renewals, data protection, health and safety).
    • Ensure accurate records and documentation are maintained.
  • Business Development & Delivery Support
    • Provide administrative and operational support to client delivery teams as required.
    • Assist in the preparation of proposals, presentations, and reports.
    • Help track project and business performance metrics to inform company-wide decision-making.

Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience in an office management, operations, or business support role (preferably within a consultancy or professional services environment).
  • Previous experience working with the ERP system Odoo, or knowledge of accounting.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Confident with digital tools (e.g., Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, project management or CRM tools).
  • Proactive, reliable, and comfortable taking initiative in a fast-moving environment.

Why Join Us

  • We’re small, agile, and value autonomy.
  • We work on interesting stuff with public and private sector clients.
  • We believe in balance—flexible hours, remote options, no nonsense.
  • We invest heavily in making a positive societal difference and will support you to be a force for positive change.
  • We support your growth, ideas, and progression.
