Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Registered Manager to lead a therapeutic children's residential home, ensuring high standards of care, safeguarding, compliance, and staff performance. You will create a stable, trauma-informed environment that supports children and young people with complex needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the home through Ofsted registration and maintain compliance with Children's Homes Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards.
- Manage and develop staff, including recruitment, supervision, rotas, and performance management.
- Deliver high-quality, child-centred and trauma-informed care.
- Take lead responsibility for safeguarding, risk management, and incident response.
- Oversee care planning, admissions, placement stability, and positive outcomes for children.
- Build strong relationships with social workers, families, schools, and external professionals.
- Manage budgets, staffing costs, and operational performance.
- Drive continuous improvement to achieve and maintain a Good or Outstanding Ofsted rating.
Essential Requirements
- Experience in children's residential care and leadership/management.
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding, Ofsted requirements, and Children's Homes Regulations.
- Understanding of trauma-informed and therapeutic care practices.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
- Full UK driving licence and enhanced DBS.
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or willingness to complete).
Desirable
- Previous experience as an Ofsted Registered Manager.
- Experience opening or registering a new home.
- Experience supporting children with emotional or behavioural difficulties.
