The Role
As Accounts Assistant, you will support the finance function by ensuring the accurate and timely processing of financial transactions. Working closely with the Group Accountant and Financial Controller, you will gain valuable exposure to dealership accounting and reporting in a structured, professional environment. This role is ideal for someone who wants to develop their skills and progress as the business grows.
Key Responsibilities
- Daily banking of all monies in line with company procedures
- Processing sales, vehicle, purchase, and nominal ledger transactions
- Raising Sales Ledger invoices and processing warranty credit notes
- Ensuring supplier payments are made in line with agreed terms
- Reconciling purchase ledger accounts to supplier statements
- Providing cashflow data and financial support to the Financial Controller
- Supporting credit control and logging unpaid cheques
- Building strong working relationships across the business
- Ensuring compliance with company, manufacturer, and industry guidelines
About You
- Previous experience in an accounts or finance support role
- Motor trade experience advantageous but not essential
- Strong attention to detail and good Excel skills
- Organised, methodical, and comfortable working to deadlines
- Proactive, reliable, and keen to learn
- Ambitious and interested in long-term career progression
