A well-established and fast-paced car dealership, representing a global automotive brand, is looking to recruit an Accounts Assistant with strong purchase ledger experience. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing organisation, working as part of a close-knit accounts team alongside the on-site Accountant and Accounts Assistant.

Main Purpose of Role

You will focus primarily on Purchase Ledger duties - matching, batching, and coding invoices - while also supporting wider accounts functions. This includes banking, allocation of receipts, reconciliations, and ensuring payments are processed in line with company standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process accounts paperwork daily and distribute for manager authorisation.
  • Ensure supplier invoices are processed promptly and in line with company procedures.
  • Reconcile supplier statements monthly, chase outstanding invoices, and process payments to agreed terms.
  • Accurately record, process, and bank all receipts.
  • Conduct credit references for new customers in line with company policy.
  • Produce and send client statements within 24 hours each month.
  • Maintain filing systems for easy access to records.
  • Support the dealer accountant with any issues that may affect monthly accounts production.
