We're working with a growing and forward-thinking automotive dealer group in Borehamwood who are looking to appoint an Assistant Management Accountant with a strong focus on financial analysis. This is a commercially focused role for someone who enjoys going beyond the numbers to understand what is driving business performance. You'll analyse dealership performance, margins, costs and KPIs, producing meaningful financial insight to support senior management and operational decision-making. This is not simply a transactional accounts role - the successful candidate will play an important part in turning financial data into actionable business insight.
The Role
- Producing and analysing regular financial and management reports
- Analysing dealership performance, margins, costs and profitability
- Identifying trends, variances and areas for improvement
- Producing KPI and performance analysis for senior management
- Supporting daily and monthly financial reporting
- Assisting with cashflow analysis and forecasting
- Supporting budgeting and financial planning
- Building and maintaining financial models and analysis
- Providing clear financial commentary and explaining performance movements
- Supporting board and senior management reporting
- Working closely with dealership and operational teams to understand financial performance
- Supporting audit, VAT and compliance requirements
- Identifying opportunities to improve financial processes and reporting
About You
- We're looking for an analytical finance professional who enjoys working with data and using it to understand and improve business performance.
- Previous experience within a motor dealership or automotive dealer group
- Experience in an Assistant Management Accountant, Management Accountant, Finance Analyst or similar role
- Strong financial analysis and reporting skills
- Excellent Excel skills and strong attention to detail
- Good understanding of dealership accounting and financial performance
- Experience using Kerridge or a similar automotive dealer management system
- AAT qualified or studying towards ACCA, CIMA or ACA
- Strong commercial awareness and the confidence to work with operational and senior stakeholders
- Kerridge experience is highly desirable, particularly where this has involved extracting, analysing and interpreting dealership financial data.
