We are supporting a Basque government international trade and investment agency in appointing a Project Manager for the UK & Ireland, based in Central London. This is a high-profile opportunity within an organisation focused on supporting international market expansion, trade development, and inward investment activity. The role sits within a strategic UK & Ireland office responsible for connecting innovative international businesses with key stakeholders across industry, government, and investment communities.

The Project Manager will take ownership of a portfolio of internationalisation and market development projects, supporting Basque companies as they enter and expand within the UK and Irish markets. Reporting to the Office Director, this role combines commercial insight, stakeholder engagement, and project leadership. The successful candidate will be expected to operate confidently across both public and private sector environments, building trusted relationships and delivering tangible commercial outcomes. This is a highly client-facing position, requiring hands‑off delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and deliver Basque companies' internationalisation and consultancy projects across the UK & Ireland markets
  • Conduct in-depth market research and sector analysis to identify opportunities
  • Develop and manage relationships with potential clients, distributors, partners, and institutional stakeholders
  • Advise Basque companies on export strategy, market entry, and commercial positioning
  • Produce high-quality commercial, technical, and economic reports and briefings
  • Manage CRM systems and maintain accurate stakeholder intelligence
  • Organise and deliver trade missions, business agendas, and structured B2B programmes
  • Attend industry conferences, trade fairs, and networking events
  • Support the Office Director in investment opportunities, promotion campaigns, trade missions, and investor summits
  • Provide support to the Office Director in analyzing global investment tendencies and other investment interests for customers
Candidate Profile

We are seeking a commercially astute, internationally minded professional with strong experience in trade, investment, or business development.

Essential
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Fluent English
  • Between 2 - 3 years of minimum experience in international activities.
  • Excellent analytical skills, organisation planning and customer orientation.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to dynamic and international environments, high achievement orientation and sense of responsibility and strong teamwork skills.
  • Right to work in the UK (British nationality or residence permit in the UK)
Desirable
  • Knowledge of the British and Irish, as well as the Basque industrial and institutional environment.
  • Previous work experience with institutions such as Associations, Consulates, Industrial Parks, Clusters, Local Authorities, etc.
  • Spanish and/or Basque language skills (preferred but not essential)
  • Exposure to industrial, manufacturing, engineering, energy, bio-health or export-led sectors.
Working Pattern

Homeworking (1 day/week) Occasional travel across the UK, Ireland, and Europe
