We are working with a well-established organisation that is looking for an experienced Technical IT Business Analyst to join their team on an initial 3-month contract, with a strong likelihood of extension. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically minded Business Analyst with proven EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) experience to work across a range of IT and business systems initiatives. Experience within a manufacturing environment would be highly advantageous.
The Role
- Act as the key link between business stakeholders and technical teams, helping to understand business requirements, translate them into clear technical specifications and support the successful delivery of IT projects.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders, developers, IT teams and third-party suppliers to analyse existing processes, identify opportunities for improvement and deliver effective technology solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Gather, analyse and document detailed business and technical requirements
- Work closely with stakeholders to understand business processes, challenges and objectives
- Translate business requirements into clear functional and technical specifications
- Analyse existing systems, processes and data flows and identify areas for improvement
- Take ownership of EDI-related requirements, integrations and processes
- Work with technical teams and third-party providers on system integrations
- Support the design, development, testing and implementation of IT solutions
- Produce clear process maps, requirements documentation and technical documentation
- Facilitate workshops and stakeholder meetings
- Support UAT, defect resolution and implementation activities
- Identify dependencies, risks and potential impacts across systems and processes
- Act as the bridge between business users and technical teams throughout the project lifecycle
Key Skills & Experience
- Proven experience as a Technical IT Business Analyst
- Strong EDI experience is essential
- Good understanding of system integrations, interfaces and data flows
- Experience gathering and documenting complex business and technical requirements
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- Experience working with both business and technical teams
- Good understanding of software development and project delivery lifecycles
- Experience with testing, UAT and implementation
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Manufacturing sector experience highly desirable
- Experience with ERP, supply chain or manufacturing systems would be advantageous
