Role Overview:
As a key member of the motion design team, you will help shape an innovative and forward-thinking department. In this role, you will manage multiple projects at once, requiring self-discipline, effective time management, and the ability to meet tight deadlines. Additionally, you will provide leadership, mentoring, and guidance to the broader design team to foster creativity and growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and inspire the motion design studio to deliver unique, memorable, and impactful work that meets client briefs.
- Interpret and respond to client and agency briefs, ensuring creative alignment.
- Mentor junior designers by providing direction, support, and inspiration throughout the creative process.
- Introduce fresh, innovative ideas during creative meetings and discussions.
- Collaborate with production teams to analyze client briefs and feedback, ensuring clarity and actionable insights.
- Organize and conduct internal creative reviews to refine and enhance design concepts.
- Work closely with other teams, particularly in Editorial and Print Design, to share ideas and collaborate on cross-functional projects.
- Establish strong relationships with external illustrators, animators, directors, and creatives, leveraging their talents for specific projects.
- Actively scout and recruit emerging motion design talent by attending industry events and degree shows.
- Collaborate with the Head of Post-Production to ensure adequate freelance coverage during peak periods or team member absences.
- Manage and trial freelance talent within the studio to expand the creative pool.
- Ensure technical issues, such as software or hardware challenges, are promptly addressed by relevant operational team members to maintain studio efficiency.
