The Nicolson Institute is seeking a Teacher of Physics for a permanent position, working 35 hours per week. The salary ranges from £44,015 to £55,737 per annum, inclusive of a £2,997 Distant Islands Allowance.
The purpose of this post is to contribute to overall school effectiveness in the following areas:

Subject to the policies of the school and the education authority, the duties of teachers include:
- Teaching assigned classes together with associated preparation and correction.
- Developing the school curriculum.
- Assessing, recording and reporting on the work of pupils.
- Preparing pupils for examinations and assisting with the administration of examinations.
- Providing advice and guidance to pupils on issues related to their education.
- Promoting and safeguarding the health, welfare and safety of pupils.
- Undertaking appropriate and agreed continuing professional development.
- Participating in issues related to school planning, raising achievement and individual review.
- Contributing to good order and the wider needs of the school.
This post is subject to membership of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme as a legal requirement of a regulated role with children. Teachers leaving the employment of the Comhairle during the first 3 years will be liable to repay an element of the payment.
