Based in Stornoway, the Senior Resources Officer will manage the staff in the Education Resources section of the Department, manage the delivery of ASN Home to School Transport for the Western Isles, manage and oversee the core business of this section, co-ordinate the Department Revenue Estimates process along with assisting managers in the Department by providing advice and guidance on the development of their Business Continuity plans and the analysis and management of their budgets.
You will be educated to HND level or have equivalent experience. In addition, you will have a good understanding of local authority accounting procedures (in particular year-end processes), knowledge of Management Information Systems and a good understanding of Microsoft Office. You must be able to undertake work that requires attention to detail and quality checking of processes, be skilled in the analysis of financial and statistical information and the use of financial management systems. You will preferably hold a Certificate at level 3 in Education and Training delivery along with MIDAS and PATS. You must be willing to undertake a programme of training to achieve MIDAS and PATS if not already qualified.
A full UK driving licence is required.
This post is subject to membership of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme as a legal requirement of a regulated role with Children.
The salary quoted is inclusive of Distant Islands Allowance. Appointment to the post will be on the first point of the grade.
