School Technical Technician, Sgoil Lionacleit / Castlebay School (0362)
\n 37 hours per week, year-round, permanent post
\n £30,758 - £31,935 per annum, inclusive of £2,997 Distant Islands Allowance per annum

A School Technical Technician is sought to provide general support and to maintain and repair a wide variety of equipment in schools. The post holder will provide practical support to technical teaching staff at Sgoil Lionacleit 4 days per week and Castlebay School one day per week. Liaising with the Head Teacher / PT Technical in Sgoil Lionacleit and Castlebay Schools and the Senior Resources Officer for machinery repairs and maintenance and Senior Schools Technician for safety concerns.

The post holder must have experience of working with machinery in a workshop environment along with awareness of health and safety issues in relation to general workplace activity. You must have an organised approach to the full range of duties require and the ability to work to standards set with minimum supervision. It is essential you have basic engineering skills and you are willing to undertake training as required.

A full current UK driving licence is essential.

This post is subject to membership of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme as a legal requirement of a regulated role with Children (Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme - mygov.scot).

Salary for the above post is inclusive of Distant Islands Allowance. Appointment to the post will be on the first point of the grade.
