A School Technical Technician is sought to provide general support and maintain a wide variety of equipment in schools, ensuring it is kept in good order and complies with safety requirements. You will provide practical support to technical teaching staff at Sgoil Lionacleit and liaise with the Head Teacher / PT Technical and the Senior Resources Officer regarding machinery repairs, maintenance, and safety concerns.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide general support and maintain/repair a wide variety of equipment in schools.
  • Provide practical support to technical teaching staff at Sgoil Lionacleit.
  • Liaise with the Head Teacher / PT Technical and the Senior Resources Officer for machinery repairs, maintenance, and safety concerns.
  • Ensure equipment is kept in good order and comply with safety requirements.

Requirements / Qualifications:

  • Experience of working with machinery in a workshop environment.
  • Knowledge of COSHH and safe storage of materials.
  • Knowledge of reporting requirements under RIDDOR.
  • Basic engineering skills.
  • Full current UK Driving licence is essential.
  • Membership of the PVG Scheme is required as part of a regulated role with children.

The salary for the above post is inclusive of Distant Islands Allowance. Appointment to the post will be on the first point of grade with annual incremental progression. The post is subject to PVG scheme membership. It is vital you read the job description and person specification; in your Experience statement detail how you meet each essential criterion.
