Relief Nursery Key Workers are sought for the Isle of Harris but there is availability for relief in all areas of the Western Isles. Gaelic speakers are encouraged to apply.
Comhairle nan Eilean Siar directly manages nurseries throughout the islands and is recruiting Relief Nursery Key Workers, Gaelic and English, to cover staff absences. Successful candidates will have their names added to a relief bank and will be called to work as and when required.
You will assist the Nursery staff with planning a curriculum which supports and guides children's all round learning and development, and planning and organising the play session taking into account the needs of every child.
You must have proven childcare experience of working with young children and their families in an early years setting together with knowledge of child development and how children learn. In addition, you must be willing to work towards a qualification that meets the requirements of the SSSC for practitioners.
This post is subject to membership of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme in respect of regulated work with children. This post is on an as and when basis to cover absences of permanent staff. Salary for the above post is inclusive of Distant Islands Allowance.
