37 hours per week, Permanent Position

£30,758 to £31,935 per annum (inclusive of £2,997 Distant Islands Allowance per annum)

You will undertake all duties associated with the process of waste at the Comhairle’s Waste Processing, Market Stance, Uist, facilities, including:

  • operation of process control equipment;
  • operation of static or mobile plant;
  • operation of mechanical and electrical systems on site including the inputting of data on to a computerised system;
  • operation of site weighbridge;
  • operation and maintenance of Household Waste Recycling Centre;
  • various driving duties.

You must have experience of operating heavy plant, machinery or process equipment whilst CITB Certificates are desirable. You must have the ability to work on your own initiative, be able to work co-operatively with staff and customers, and have an adaptable approach to work. It is essential that you have a clean, full UK driving licence. An HGV licence is desirable.

The salary quoted is inclusive of Distant Islands Allowance. Appointment to the post will be on the first point of the grade.
