The purpose of this post is to contribute to overall school effectiveness in respect of the following areas:
- Curricular
- Care and welfare
- Collegiate
- Professional development
Subject to the policies of the school and the education authority. Teacher duties include tasks directed by the headteacher, including reasonable regard to overall workload in the following categories:
- Teaching assigned classes together with associated preparation and correction
- Developing the school curriculum
- Assessing, recording and reporting on pupils’ work
- Preparing pupils for examinations and assisting with administration of examinations
- Providing advice and guidance on education-related issues
- Promoting and safeguarding health, welfare and safety of pupils
- Working in partnership with parents, support staff and other professionals
- Undertaking appropriate and agreed continuing professional development
- Participating in school planning, raising achievement and individual review
- Contributing to good order and the wider needs of the school
The successful candidate must have an appropriate degree or diploma and GTC Scotland registration. Fluency in Gaelic is essential. This post is subject to membership of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme as a legal requirement of a regulated role with Children.
