A Mobile Janitor is required to provide a mobile property related janitorial service to the non-WISP schools in the local area (Sgoil Uibhist A Tuath, Iochdar, Sgoil Lionacleit), on a flexible pattern of work and rota as directed by the area Executive Headteacher and the Senior Resources Officer. Based in Sgoil Lionacleit, the Mobile Janitor will cover all compliance related work expected of school based staff and assist the Senior Responsible Officer for the property to carry out their duties. The hours of this post will be carried out during the evenings and weekends.
Duties include:
- carrying out security procedures for school buildings and grounds, including keyholder responsibilities;
- handyperson duties;
- day-to-day operation and routine maintenance of boilers and heating plant as instructed;
- preparing classrooms/halls for school and/or public use;
- school crossing patrol;
- supervision of community lets outwith school hours;
- provide assistance and carry out new duties where any new property compliance testing regime is introduced for school premises.
You should have an understanding of janitorial duties in a school with an organised and effective approach to the full range of duties. Experience of handyperson duties and both the knowledge and ability to carry out routine maintenance on plant and school equipment is required. You must have an understanding of Health & Safety issues. You must have the ability to supervise pupils.
A full UK Driving Licence and access to a vehicle is essential as the ability to travel between locations is required. This post is subject to membership of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme as a legal requirement of a regulated role with Children.
