Overview: 32 hours per week, term-time, Permanent. Salary £24,368 - £26,631 per annum, inclusive of £2,240 Distant Islands Allowance per annum. Appointment to the post will be on the first point of the grade. This post includes Distant Islands Allowance. Closing Date: Monday 13 July 2026.

Responsibilities:

  • Through the medium of Gaelic, plan a curriculum which supports and guides children's all-round learning and development, and plan and organise play sessions taking into account the needs of every child.
  • Lead, teach and develop children in an early years setting, and plan and deliver sessions to support development in line with assessed needs.
  • Support with arranging and delivering play and learning activities according to the needs of each child.
  • Engage with families and work collaboratively to support children in the early years environment.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Proven childcare experience with young children and their families in an early years setting.
  • A qualification that meets the Scottish Social Services Council requirements for Practitioners.
  • The ability to speak and read Gaelic is essential.
  • Membership of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme is required as a legal requirement for a regulated role with Children.

Terms and Other Details: The salary quoted is inclusive of the Distant Islands Allowance. The appointment will be on the first point of the grade.
