Cook Supervisor (2463) Sgoil Bhaile a' Mhanaich
27.5 hours per week, term time, Permanent post
£19,688 – £21,523 per annum, inclusive of £1,789 Distant Islands Allowance per annum

The post holder will be required to provide quality catering service to all customers. Duties will include supervision of all duties by kitchen/dining room staff including use of effective rotas; preparation, cooking, garnishing and serving of all food to meet the standard specification; ordering, checking and correct storage of all commodities; keeping to budget and menu plans according to instructions; and ensure all staff are trained and records correctly maintained.

You must have knowledge of the importance of Current Food Legislation and application and a good understanding of the need for a well-balanced nutritious diet. It is essential you have good written and numeracy skills to complete relevant documentation and returns. You must have the ability to train other members of staff. You must hold a current Food Hygiene Qualification and a relevant qualification in cooking. Previous experience in a similar post is essential along with practical cooking experience in a large scale catering environment, producing 50+ meals a day.

This post is subject to membership of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme as a legal requirement of a regulated role with Children (Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme – mygov.scot).

Salary for the above post is inclusive of Distant Islands Allowance. Appointment to the post will be on the first point of the grade.
