Responsible to: Service Manager/Team Leader or other Manager designated by the company.

Short Description: The Support Assistant is responsible for delivering Service User centred support in accordance with management direction and in compliance with company processes and procedures.

Specific Duties:

  • Supporting the Manager, Team Leader and Senior Staff in day to day operations of supported housing unit(s)
  • Maximisation of Service User interests by liaising with internal and external stakeholders and implementing each Service User's support plan
  • Safeguarding the rights and dignity of each Service User and fostering a positive environment in which Service Users are actively engaged
  • Conducting daily assessment of Service Users' mental and physical state, updating associated records and informing management
  • Supporting Service Users to build their confidence, self‑esteem and ability to manage their mental health symptoms
  • Personal delivery of physical and mental support to Service Users
  • Promoting Service Users' health and assisting with accurate medication adherence
  • Promoting Service Users' hygiene and personal presentation
  • Supporting Service Users with developing social skills and future independent living
  • Supporting Service Users with daily living skills and domestic chores
  • Supporting Service Users with scheduling and attending appointments and day‑time activities
  • Supporting Service Users with using public transport
  • Encouraging and motivating Service Users into employment, voluntary work and/or education
  • Maintaining the cleanliness, quality, security and safety of each home and individual Service User accommodation

Generic Duties:

  • Maintaining confidentiality of all information unless otherwise permitted by management
  • Full compliance with company’s vision, values, policies and procedures
  • Compliance with legislation and GSCC Code of Conduct as reflected in company procedures
  • Undergo training and professional development as directed by the company
