Position Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and reliable caregiver to provide non-medical assistance to clients in their homes. As a caregiver with ComForCare Hilton Head, you will support our clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including personal care, companionship, and household tasks. The ideal candidate will be empathetic, dependable, and dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for our clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Assist with mobility and transfers, ensuring client safety at all times.
- Prepare and serve meals based on client dietary needs and preferences.
- Assist with light housekeeping duties, including cleaning, laundry, and organizing.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive and nurturing environment.
- Remind clients to take prescribed medications and assist with medication management as needed.
- Ensure clients’ safety by monitoring their health and reporting any concerns to the supervisory staff.
- Document daily care and any changes in the client’s condition or behavior.
- Transport clients to appointments, errands, or social activities if needed (reliable transportation required).
Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in caregiving, healthcare, or related fields.
- Compassionate, patient, and respectful with a strong desire to help others.
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare teams.
- CPR and First Aid certification
- Must have a valid TB test result.
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening.
- Reliable transportation to and from client locations.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Must be legally eligible to work in the U.S.
Job Requirements
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Valid driver’s license and proof of insurance (if transportation is required).
- Ability to lift and assist clients as needed (physical strength may be required).
- A caring, professional, and dependable attitude toward client care.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
