We’re looking for a proactive and confident SSHEQ Advisor to deliver practical, value‑adding safety, sustainability, health, environment and quality support across our depots, offices, projects and operational teams. If you’re someone who thrives on improving standards, solving problems, and influencing safe, compliant behaviours, this role gives you the autonomy and impact you’re looking for. You’ll play a key role in assurance, compliance, investigations, reporting and continuous improvement — helping us protect our people, our clients and our operations. You’ll apply established SSHEQ principles, support the development of systems and campaigns, and build strong relationships with teams and client stakeholders to drive positive change.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Deliver competent, practical SSHEQ advice to operational teams
- Lead and support depot/office audits, ensuring actions are closed out
- Ensure RAMS, risk assessments and workplace controls are suitable and effective
- Support SSHEQ Management Plans, F10 notifications and project compliance
- Investigate incidents and near misses, identifying root causes and corrective actions
- Collect, validate and report SSHEQ data for internal and client reporting
- Support continuous improvement, internal audits and external assessments
- Promote environmental compliance, sustainability and carbon reporting
- Build strong relationships with operational teams and client SSHEQ stakeholders
- Support SSHEQ briefings, communications and awareness campaigns
What You Bring
- Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills
- Excellent communication, report writing and presentation abilities
- Experience in audits, incident investigation and risk assessment
- Ability to analyse data, identify trends and drive improvements
- Practical problem‑solving skills and sound operational judgement
- Strong attention to detail and confidence using SSHEQ systems and Microsoft Office
Knowledge & Experience
- Solid understanding of H&S management systems and safe systems of work
- Knowledge of CDM Regulations and F10 requirements
- Understanding of environmental management, waste, carbon and pollution prevention
- Experience with ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001
- Experience supporting audits, investigations and SSHEQ reporting
- Experience working across multiple sites, projects or operational environments
Qualifications
- NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate (or equivalent)
- Associate Member of IEMA / IEMA Foundation Certificate
- Internal Auditor training (ISO 9001/14001/45001) (desirable)
