This role falls under the Construction Industry Scheme (CIS). We are looking for Self Employed Cable Operatives to work in and around the Black Country on the VM02 network. As a Cable Operative, you will be at the forefront of constructing, installing, and maintaining advanced telecommunications networks.
What’s involved:
- Building and maintaining new and existing core telecommunications access networks, including Copper, HFC, and overhead cables.
- Heavy cable pulling, spanning overhead lines, subducting, and blowing fibre.
- Keeping detailed records of your work using our internal database.
- Adhering to Virgin Media's high standards.
- Following all safety regulations, including the National Roads & Street Works Act.
- Ensuring all equipment is in excellent and safe working condition.
Requirements:
About you:
- Sound practical knowledge and experience of Copper, HFC, and FTTP.
- You may be required to support the clients in-house operation from time to time.
- You are comfortable with technology and eager to learn about telecommunications infrastructure.
Licence/Certification:
- NRSWA Unit 2 and PIA Accredited.
- Driving License: You hold a full, clean, and valid UK driving license (minimum 1 year).
- Security Clearance: DBS/necessary security checks will be carried out.
Working 40 hours per week from 8am - 5pm. Payments under CIS Tax will be deducted from your pay before you receive it, and the contractor will pay this directly to HMRC on your behalf.
