If you enjoy leading teams, solving problems and making things happen, Comex 2000 is where it happens. As our programmes continue to grow, we're looking for a highly analytical Billing Administrator to join our Finance team and play a critical role in ensuring accurate billing, revenue recognition, and cash flow across the business.

This is more than a traditional administration role. We're looking for someone who is confident working with large volumes of data, enjoys investigating discrepancies, and can use advanced Excel skills to drive billing accuracy and support business performance. Excel will be a key tool in your day-to-day role. You'll be expected to work confidently with complex spreadsheets, analyse large datasets, reconcile information across multiple sources, identify billing exceptions, and produce accurate reporting. If you love working with data and spotting what others miss, this could be the perfect role for you.

What You'll Do

  • Prepare, validate, and submit invoices accurately and on time through customer portals and billing platforms.
  • Process billing information and reconcile customer data to ensure revenue is recognised correctly.
  • Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies, exceptions, adjustments, DFEs, and payment issues.
  • Analyse billing data to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Manage billing records, documentation, and client account information with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Support cash flow by working closely with Finance and operational teams to resolve outstanding billing issues.
  • Respond to client billing queries professionally and efficiently.
  • Produce reporting and insights that support informed decision-making.
  • Support audit activities and ensure compliance with company and regulatory requirements.
  • Drive process improvements and support the adoption of digital and AI-enabled solutions.

Requirements

What You'll Bring

  • Previous experience in a billing, finance administration, revenue, accounts receivable, or similar role.
  • Strong understanding of invoicing, billing cycles, reconciliations, and exception management.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • A proactive mindset with a focus on accuracy, efficiency, and continuous improvement.

Essential Technical Skills

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills are essential for this role. You should be confident using:
    • Pivot Tables and Pivot Charts.
    • XLOOKUP, VLOOKUP, INDEX MATCH and other lookup functions.
    • SUMIFS, COUNTIFS and logical formulas.
    • Data validation and conditional formatting.
    • Data cleansing and manipulation.
    • Reporting and trend analysis.
    • Large spreadsheets with high volumes of financial or operational data.

You’ll be someone who can quickly identify discrepancies, validate billing information, and turn complex data into clear, actionable insights.

Experience within telecoms, construction, utilities, or project-based environments. Experience managing DFEs, exceptions, and billing adjustments. Experience supporting internal and external audits. Experience using ERP, billing, or finance systems. Working knowledge of Power BI and reporting tools.

Qualifications

  • GCSEs or equivalent, including Maths and English.
  • Business Administration Level 4 qualification (or willingness to work towards) desirable but not essential.

Why Join Comex 2000?

  • Be part of a business helping to build the UK's digital future.
  • Play a key role in protecting revenue and supporting business performance.
  • Work with large datasets and develop your analytical expertise.
  • Join a collaborative team focused on continuous improvement.
  • Gain exposure to major telecoms infrastructure programmes and projects.

If you're highly organised, passionate about data, and have the advanced Excel skills to make complex billing processes run smoothly, we'd love to hear from you.
