Stores Operative to play a vital role in supporting our field engineering teams across the West Midlands.
This isn’t just a warehouse role.
You’ll be at the centre of day-to-day operations, ensuring materials, equipment, and vehicles are ready when they’re needed.
From stock control to yard management, you’ll help keep everything running smoothly and efficiently on site.

- What you’ll be doing
- Maintain stock levels of materials and equipment to support field engineering activities
- Ensure all stock movements are accurately recorded in real time
- Carry out monthly stock audits and maintain high levels of stock accuracy
- Organise and control incoming materials from suppliers, ensuring everything is checked and accounted for
- Prepare materials for use in line with operational requirements
- Assist with loading and unloading vehicles for civils and cable gangs
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe yard and warehouse environment
- Monitor stock levels, manage shortages, and escalate issues where required
- Work closely with Planning, Purchasing, and Operations to keep works on track
- Prepare and dispatch shipments, ensuring deliveries are right first time and in full
- Complete all relevant paperwork and liaise with couriers and third parties
- Control and issue plant and line equipment
- Ensure site security is maintained at all times to protect stock integrity
- Follow health & safety procedures and report any risks or concerns
Requirements
About you
- Experience working in a stores, warehouse, or logistics environment
- Methodical and organised, with strong attention to detail
- Able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting
- Hands-on approach with a strong work ethic
- Good communication skills and able to work as part of a team
- Basic IT skills, including MS Office / Excel
- Full, clean driving licence
- Forklift licence (preferred)
