We are seeking a skilled and motivated Calibration Technician with expertise in any of the Electrical, Dimensional, Torque, Mechanical, Pressure or Temperature and Humidity Calibrations to join our growing laboratory team. This role is ideal for someone with strong technical competence, attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high quality calibration, inspection and testing service. As a Calibration Technician, you will support the Head of Laboratory, Lab Supervisor and Quality Department in ensuring our calibration and inspection services meet the highest standards of accuracy, compliance and professionalism.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Support the Head of Laboratory/Lab Supervisor and the Quality Department.
  • Maintain current knowledge of calibration, inspection and testing techniques.
  • Assist with administrative tasks, including the development of quality assurance procedures and cost‑effective working practices.
  • Carry out onsite and in‑house testing, calibration and inspection activities, including repair where appropriate.
  • Deliver all work to a high standard, meeting agreed production targets and KPIs.
  • Train and mentor trainee Technicians and apprentices in daily tasks and safe working methods.
  • Support the development of bespoke testing, calibration and inspection solutions, including assisting with quotations and risk assessments.
  • Provide technical support to customers and account managers, including quoting for calibrations and repairs.
  • Ensure all work adheres to company quality documentation, processes and the quality manual.
  • Work with the Quality Department to resolve non‑compliances efficiently and effectively.
  • Promote company values, professionalism and a positive working culture.
  • Follow accurate processes for recording job information at every stage of the calibration lifecycle.
  • Understand and respond to business customer requirements effectively.
  • Contribute to ongoing ISO 17025:2017 compliance, ensuring records, procedures, uncertainty budgets, proficiency checks and documentation are accurate and up to date.
  • Undertake any other duties appropriate to the grade and nature of the role.

Experience & Skills

  • Strong experience in inspection, Electrical, Dimensional, Torque, Mechanical, Pressure or Temperature and Humidity calibration and testing of instruments, components or measuring equipment.
  • Ability to interpret technical data and documentation.
  • Methodical, detail‑oriented and effective at problem‑solving.
  • Able to follow procedures accurately and consistently.
  • Calm, positive and professional in a busy working environment.
  • Ability to multi‑task, respond proactively and work under pressure.
  • Self‑motivated with the ability to work independently, while contributing to team success.
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing business requirements.

Qualifications

  • Level 3 qualification in a relevant engineering or technical discipline is desirable.
