Lead transport operations for a fast-growing global brand. The Transport Office Manager is responsible for the effective day-to-day management of the transport office, ensuring transport operations are safe, compliant, efficient, and cost-effective. The role oversees transport planning, fleet utilisation, driver administration, and delivery performance, while ensuring full compliance with transport legislation and health and safety requirements.

What You’ll Do:

  • Manage daily transport operations, ensuring routes, loads, and driver schedules are planned and executed to meet service requirements.
  • Optimise vehicle utilisation and routing to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and maintain on-time delivery performance.
  • Oversee driver administration, including hours compliance, absences, tachograph analysis, and licence checks.
  • Ensure compliance with all transport legislation, health and safety standards, and company policies.
  • Act as the main point of contact for drivers, warehouse teams, customers, and external transport providers.
  • Monitor and control transport costs, identifying opportunities for efficiency improvements and cost savings.
  • Investigate delivery issues, accidents, incidents, and customer complaints, implementing corrective actions as required.
  • Maintain accurate transport records, including delivery documentation, PODs, vehicle checks, and compliance files.
  • Coordinate vehicle maintenance, servicing, and defect reporting to ensure fleet safety and availability.
  • Produce and analyse transport KPIs and performance reports covering service, utilisation, compliance, and costs.
  • Lead and manage the transport office team and drivers.
  • Recruit, train, and develop staff, ensuring appropriate performance management and workload planning.
  • Manage performance, conduct disciplinary processes, and resolve operational or personnel issues in line with company policies and legislation.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

  • Proven experience in transport, logistics, or distribution operations.
  • Previous supervisory or management experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of transport operations and regulatory compliance.
  • Strong organisational and planning skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Competent IT skills, including transport systems, Oracle, Excel, and Word.
  • Ability to analyse data, manage KPIs, and produce operational reports.
  • Commercial awareness with a strong focus on cost control and efficiency.
