- About This Role
We are looking for an adaptable and proactive Technical Solutions Engineer to join our fast-growing team.
Our platform operates in a niche, high-value space specialising in online, merchant-initiated payments.
This is a dynamic, hybrid role positioned right at the intersection of our commercial pipeline and live client operations.
It is not an all-out, targeted pre-sales position, nor is it a pure backend support ticket role.
Instead, you will act as the bridge between our business, our prospects, and our existing clients, supporting conversations with prospects, handling solution scoping, and ensuring long-term technical satisfaction.
- What You'll Be Doing
- Partner with commercial teams during the later stages of the sales cycle to support conversations with prospects, map technical requirements, and provide validation.
- Design, scope, and support the implementation of technical solutions for payment gateway integrations, transaction processing, fraud prevention, and other payment-related services.
- Act as the primary technical point of contact for enterprise clients during the onboarding process and post-deployment, delivering exceptional technical account management.
- Support the integration of payment solutions with client’s existing architecture, including e-commerce platforms, mobile applications, and operational or financial reporting systems.
- Provide rapid troubleshooting support and coordinate technical testing across different environments to resolve integration and transaction issues with minimal client disruption.
- Contribute to and maintain detailed documentation, creating integration guides, troubleshooting manuals, client solution capture (high-level architecture and transaction flows), client-specific configurations, test plans, and training materials for merchants.
- Collaborate closely with software developers and our product team, translating real-world merchant feedback and project status reports into clear suggestions for platform improvements.
What We're Looking For
This role is for a natural problem solver.
We value adaptability and communication above rigid job titles.
We know brilliant technical minds come from all areas of tech; whether your background is as a
Technical Business Analyst, Product Owner, Technical Account Manager, Solutions Engineer, or Technical Support Engineer , we want to hear from you.
Essential Experience
- Exceptional communication skills with a proven track record of effortlessly explaining complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and business needs to developers.
- Proven experience in a client facing technical support, solutions engineering, BA, or product-focused role.
- Experience running client scoping workshops and requirements capture and translation.
- Prior experience in a fast-paced, agile, or scaling environment where you are comfortable being autonomous, managing multiple tasks, and maintaining sharp attention to detail.
- Hands-on experience with API integration, RESTful services, and troubleshooting web technologies (HTML, CSS, Java Script).
- Nice to have
- Familiarity with payment processing systems (e. g. credit cards, ACH, mobile payments, digital wallets), particularly with online, merchant-initiated payments.
- Experience working within a Software-as-a-Service / Saa S environment alongside Agile development methodologies.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and certifications related to payment systems or compliance (e. g., PCI-DSS, GDPR, or cloud architecture).
- Why this role exists
Our business is growing rapidly, and our platform is expanding into highly specialised merchant ecosystems.
To support this growth, we need a dedicated professional who can bridge the gap between our high-level payment orchestration architecture and the practical, day-to-day requirements of our enterprise users.
By owning the technical relationship lifecycle, this hire will directly scale our onboarding speed, improve client retention, and ensure our product evolves in lockstep with real merchant needs.
What We Offer
We provide a supportive and flexible growth environment where your impact is visible every day.
- Flexibility: Remote-first working culture, with a 3pm finish on a Friday; a role that respects your other priorities.
- Time Off: 33 (25+8) days holiday (including floating public holidays) plus an extra day off for your birthday.
- Financial: Competitive salary, pension scheme and life insurance.
- Health: Family private healthcare and Employee Assistance Programme.
- Growth: A culture that champions career progression. Chance to directly contribute to an innovative tech business as it scales.
- Community: Quarterly in-person team events and monthly socials to keep our remote team connected.
At BR-DGE, we champion diversity and inclusion.
We believe that our roles should be open to everyone, regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, age, sexual orientation, disability, or neurotype.
We value the unique talents and perspectives that each individual brings and try to create a fair and accessible hiring process for all.
